ROUND RANGI (ANZAC) Challenge 2016

It's on again ladies and gentlemen! After last years great success we are going one larger for Auckland's innaugral Anzac Challenge. For ANY and ALL sailing craft to take out the top spot and fastest time around Rangitoto!

Michael Pepper & Matt Taggart gave it a go one year ago with boat and video support by Joshua McCormack: Matt managed it in 1.13hr from Tamaki Yacht Club slipway

The race is on to beat that time....

Start: 1100 hours first possible start.

Start Line: Between the Starboard channel marker of Bean Rock and Port channel marker of West Bastion Reef.

Rounding Rangitoto: Head NE from start for Motuihe Channel, pass East of Motutapu, head through Rakino Channel, round Billy Goat Point in the north of Motutapu and straight down round the outside of  McKenzie Bay reef. After rounding follow south back to the start/finish line.

Finish Line: The same as the start line, between the Starboard channel marker of Bean Rock and Port channel marker of West Bastion Reef.

Each entry must provide their own rescue boat/jetski with coastguard approved safety equipment.

It is understood that this is a rendezvous of wind powered classes, that all precautions have been made by the individual or team as to their own safety. Safety precautions including providing their own powered vessel with qualified crew with coastguard approved safety equipment including lifejackets, flares, VHF and GSM radios.
